On the afternoon of June 27, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism received the handover of the Vietnam Exhibition Center, which is considered one of the top 10 largest exhibition center complexes in the world and the largest in Southeast Asia.

The handover was organized in time for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to prepare for the organization of the Socio-Economic Achievements Exhibition on the occasion of the upcoming 80th anniversary of National Day.

Vietnam Exhibition Center - a symbolic project of the aspiration to rise
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh - Head of the Steering Committee for the Exhibition of Socio-Economic Achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day - assessed that this is a project serving an event of great significance.

Not only valuable in terms of technology and space organization, this is also a cultural project of special significance, worthy of the region and the world, symbolizing the spirit of innovation, development and aspiration to rise.

Emphasizing that the exhibition of socio-economic achievements with the theme "80 years of the journey of independence - freedom - happiness" is an activity of profound historical and humanistic significance, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, as a standing agency, needs to continue to preside over the completion of the project on organizing the exhibition.

At the same time, develop an implementation plan, clearly assign tasks and coordinate exhibition preparation activities in a scientific, methodical and effective manner.

Smart design, lightning-fast construction in 10 months

The Vietnam Exhibition Center is located on Truong Sa Street, Dong Hoi and Xuan Canh Communes, Dong Anh District, Hanoi, and was built to host national and international political - economic - cultural - tourism events.

The complex includes many items, of which the two most important items were handed over ahead of schedule after only nearly 10 months of construction: the Kim Quy exhibition house and the outdoor exhibition area.

The symbolic work is associated with the legend of the Kim Quy god of Co Loa land, where the exhibition house was built. This is also the largest circular exhibition house in the world with a total area of 104,863m2, a height of more than 56m, which can well meet the display of large equipment and machinery.

In particular, the dome is designed massively with 24,000 tons of steel, the safety coefficient is double that of normal, using light, super durable, translucent fiberglass fabric, meeting the green architecture standards, saving energy of global scale projects.

In terms of functionality, the exhibition hall is planned into 9 halls, with an area of 9,419 - 10,478m².

The halls are intelligently designed, can be opened to create the second largest interconnected exhibition space in the world or separated into independent zones, allowing the organizer to be flexible and optimize the exhibition space.

Each hall is integrated with ancillary service blocks such as coffee shops, restaurants, and functional rooms.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung said that the Kim Quy exhibition hall not only bears a unique architectural mark associated with national legends, but also demonstrates Vietnam's aspiration to reach international stature in the exhibition industry.

Immediately after receiving the handover, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will prepare for the Socio-Economic Achievements Exhibition to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day held at the Kim Quy exhibition hall, from August 28 to September 5.
